EtG alcohol test,
at your door in Los Angeles
EtG is one of the 14 panels on every Testr drug test. A certified collector reaches your home or office in as little as 3 hours, reads the alcohol-metabolite panel on the spot, and seals the specimen under a chain-of-custody code. Confirmation at a CAP-accredited laboratory is available on every order.
What an EtG alcohol test looks for
EtG is short for ethyl glucuronide. EtG is a breakdown product of alcohol that shows drinking well after the alcohol itself is gone. A breath test only finds alcohol that is still in the body; a urine EtG test finds the metabolite the body made while clearing it, which is why EtG covers a longer period.
On a Testr report the panel is printed as ETG. It sits on the same clinical 14-panel cassette as fentanyl, THC, cocaine, opiates, benzodiazepines and the other panels, so there is nothing extra to order: every At-Home Rapid Test and every Rapid Test with Laboratory Confirmation includes it. Both are urine drug tests, collected by a certified collector at your address.
People book an EtG test for the same reasons they book any other panel: a family agreement, a monitoring arrangement set up by a therapist or a family-law professional, or a documented answer to a question that has been hanging over a household. Testr collects the specimen and reports the result. What the result means for you is between you and whoever asked for it.
Detection window and cutoff
That range is typical rather than a guarantee. How much was consumed, over how long, body weight and hydration all move it, and light drinking clears sooner than heavy drinking.
The cutoff matters as much as the number of days. The on-site cassette reads positive at or above 500 ng/mL and negative below it, even when a trace is present. One known wrinkle: heavy exposure to alcohol-based products like hand sanitizer or mouthwash can occasionally cause low-level positives. That is one reason laboratory confirmation reports a measured level rather than a bare positive.
Read the EtG panel page for the same facts alongside the other 13 panels.
How the at-home visit works
Book a collector
Pick a 30-minute window between 7 AM and 7 PM. The earliest window is 3 hours after you book.
A 15-minute visit
A certified professional arrives in plain clothes, verifies identity with your door PIN, collects the urine specimen, and reads the 14-panel drug screen.
Get verified results
Rapid drug screen results before the collector leaves, sealed under a chain-of-custody code. Laboratory confirmation takes about 72 hours.
Pick any 30-minute window between 7 AM and 7 PM, seven days a week; the earliest window is 3 hours after you book. The collector arrives in plain clothes and an unmarked vehicle, confirms identity at the door with the PIN on your screen, checks specimen temperature at collection, and reads all 14 panels, EtG included, before leaving. The specimen is sealed with tamper-evident tape and photographed, and both parties sign. The result is released to your account, and to no one else unless you share it or authorize a release in writing. With your written consent, the laboratory report can go directly to a third party you name.
Booking for someone else, a family member or a client, works the same way: choose "Someone else" when you book, their name goes on the record, and the results come to your account.
EtG and EtS confirmation at a CAP-accredited laboratory
When you need a measured EtG level, order the Rapid Test with Laboratory Confirmation. The same rapid read happens on site, then the sealed specimen goes to a CAP-accredited laboratory for LC-MS/MS analysis.
The laboratory's alcohol-metabolite confirmation measures two markers in the same specimen: ethyl glucuronide (EtG) and ethyl sulfate (EtS), each at a 500 ng/mL cutoff. The report carries measured levels, not a positive/negative line, and comes back in about 72 hours. Every laboratory report goes to a Medical Review Officer (MRO), a physician who reviews laboratory-confirmed results and accounts for valid prescriptions before the report is released. A measured level is what that review can actually weigh, including a low reading that might trace to hand sanitizer rather than a drink.
Already took the At-Home Rapid Test? Confirmation can be added from the app within 2 hours of collection, while the specimen is still viable. After that window a new collection is needed.

Before you book an EtG test
What is an EtG test?
EtG stands for ethyl glucuronide, a breakdown product of alcohol that shows drinking well after the alcohol itself is gone. A urine EtG test looks for that metabolite rather than for alcohol, which is why it covers a longer period than a breath test.
How long does alcohol show up on an EtG test?
Detectable in urine for up to about 80 hours (3-4 days) after heavy drinking, shorter after light drinking, at a 500 ng/mL screening cutoff. Treat that as a typical range rather than a promise: how much was consumed, over how long, body weight and hydration all move it.
Is the EtG test a separate order?
No. EtG is one of the 14 panels on every Testr visit, alongside fentanyl, THC, cocaine, benzodiazepines and the rest, so the At-Home Rapid Test and the Rapid Test with Laboratory Confirmation both include it.
Can hand sanitizer or mouthwash cause a positive?
Heavy exposure to alcohol-based products like hand sanitizer or mouthwash can occasionally cause low-level positives. Laboratory confirmation reports measured levels of EtG and EtS by LC-MS/MS rather than a bare positive, so a low reading is weighed rather than simply counted. Every laboratory report goes to a Medical Review Officer (MRO), a physician who reviews laboratory-confirmed results and accounts for valid prescriptions before the report is released.
Is this a breath test?
No. Testr collects urine only. The on-site cassette reads the EtG panel against its 500 ng/mL cutoff, and confirmation at the CAP-accredited laboratory measures ethyl glucuronide (EtG) and ethyl sulfate (EtS) in the same specimen.
