How to Book a Same-Day Mobile Drug Test in Los Angeles

Booking a mobile drug test in Los Angeles takes four screens, whether you do it in the Testr app for iOS or at testrla.com/book. A certified collector comes to your home or workplace, collects a urine specimen, and reads a 14-panel rapid screen on the spot. A collector can be at your door in as little as 3 hours, and visits run 7 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week.

This is what each screen asks for, and what happens after you pay.

Before you start

You need three things: an iPhone with the Testr app from the App Store, or any browser open to testrla.com/book; an address in the Los Angeles area where a collector can meet you; and a decision about which of the two tests you want. Nothing else. There are no forms to print and no fasting. The same account works in the app and on the site, so you can book on one and track the visit on the other.

Step 1: Pick the test

The first screen offers two tests.

At-Home Rapid Test. A 14-panel urine drug screen, collected and read at your door. The panels are AMP (amphetamines), BAR (barbiturates), BUP (buprenorphine), BZO (benzodiazepines), COC (cocaine), EtG (alcohol metabolite), FEN (fentanyl), MDMA, MET (methamphetamine), MOR (morphine and other opiates), MTD (methadone), OXY (oxycodone), PCP and THC. Three validity strips, pH, oxidants and creatinine, check the specimen itself. Each panel's screening cutoff and detection window is on the 14-panel drug test page, and the short codes are decoded on the abbreviations page.

Rapid Test with Laboratory Confirmation. The same 14-panel screen read on site, and then the sealed specimen travels under chain of custody to a CAP-accredited laboratory for LC-MS/MS confirmation. The laboratory identifies the specific compound and reports a measured level. Its confirmation menu covers 81 substances, including some that no rapid panel screens for, such as kratom alkaloids and psilocin. Laboratory results come back in about 72 hours.

If you are unsure, book the rapid test. You can add laboratory confirmation from the app within 2 hours of collection, while the sealed specimen is still viable.

Step 2: Say who is being tested

The second screen asks whether the test is for you or for someone else. If it is for you, your name goes on the record.

If you are booking for someone else, a client, a family member or a dependent, you enter their full name, and their consent is recorded as part of the booking. Their name goes on the record; the results come to your account. For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present for the whole visit and signs the consent in the minor's place. The collector cannot proceed without them. Professionals ordering for a client book the same way; the professionals page covers how the record is kept, and the parents page covers testing a teenager.

A new account needs a name, phone, email and password. Results are released only to that account, so use one you control.

Step 3: Enter the address and pick a window

Type the street address and city where the collector should meet you. It can be a home, an office or any other private place in the Los Angeles area; the address is checked once when you tap Continue.

Then pick a 30-minute arrival window. Windows run from 7 AM to 7 PM, every day of the week, and the earliest one is 3 hours after you book.

Step 4: Pay in the app

Review the test, the person, the address and the window, then pay in the app. That confirms the booking. The exact panels and the chain-of-custody procedure are listed on your record from this point on.

What happens after you book

A collector accepts the order and you see their name, credentials and position on the map as they drive to you, the same way you would track a ride.

At the door, your phone shows a 4-digit PIN. The collector has to enter it before the collection can begin, so the chain of custody starts with proof that they reached the right person. The specimen is temperature-checked at collection, sealed with tamper-evident tape and photographed, and both you and the collector sign the record. One custody code ties the specimen, the report and any laboratory result together.

The collector then reads the 14-panel cassette after a set development time and records each panel as negative or presumptive positive. The read is released to your account before they leave. What those words mean, and why a presumptive positive is a reason to confirm rather than a conclusion, is explained in how to read a Testr result.

If you ordered laboratory confirmation, or added it within 2 hours, the sealed specimen goes to the CAP-accredited laboratory and the LC-MS/MS result appears alongside the rapid read in about 72 hours, under the same custody code.

Results are private to the account that booked. You can read them in the Testr app or at testrla.com/account, and download a PDF record whenever you choose. Nobody else is sent a copy.
